Leg of Lamb

Serves 4 – 6

Preparation time approximately 9 hours


1 Large leg of lamb
1 Ina Paarman’s Braai Spice
2 Onions
6 – 12* Potatoes * Depending on size
150ml Water


1. Rinse the leg of lamb under cold water and then place into oven dish.
2. Sprinkle liberally with Ina Paarmans Braai Spice.
3. Cut onions into quarters and place into oven dish with lamb.
4. Add the water to the dish.
5. Cover the dish with either foil or a lid.
6. Bake for 8 hours at 100˚ Celsius.
7. Two hours before lamb is ready peel potatoes and par boil in salt water until soft.
8. Drain the water and place the potatoes around the lamb to bake in the gravy for the last two hours at 100˚Celsius.
9. Remove all ingredients from the dish except the gravy. If you wish to thicken the gravy to enjoy with the lamb add corn flour or gravy powder and serve warm with the lamb, potatoes and onions. Garnish with fresh herbs of your choice.

As a side dish serve steamed broccoli, savoury rice and a big green salad with lots of avocado pear.
